The program #gopafree This is the first comprehensive program in Greece that collects, manages, and reclycles cigarette butts, transforming one of the most widespread waste products on the planet into an opportunity for a circular economy and environmental awareness.
The operation of the program
Placement of special bins
Cigaret Cycle designs, manufactures, and places special bins for the collection of cigarette butts in public spaces, on beaches, and at cultural organizations, festivals, municipalities, and businesses.
Collection & Recycling
The cigarette butts are safely collected in the special bins and sent for separation and recycling in an environmentally responsible manner.

Recycling
The paper and tobacco remnants are converted into fertilizer suitable for floriculture.
The filters, which contain microplastic, are detoxified and become raw material for new environmentally friendly products.
The Importance for the Environment
Cigarette butts contain toxic substances and microplastics (in the filters) that threaten public health and marine life.
They need up to 15 years to decompose.
A single cigarette butt can pollute up to 500 liters of water.
